Building Solutions Treasurer Joy Siegel Appointed Corporator of Mechanics Savings Bank
Auburn, Maine (May 11, 2011) – Joy Siegel was recently named to the board of corporators at Mechanics Savings Bank. Siegel is treasurer and co-founder of Building Solutions LLC, a plan/design/build firm specializing in turn-key commercial and industrial projects headquartered in Oxford, Maine. As Building Solutions treasurer, Joy oversees and manages all budgets and accounting, including AIA monitoring of status and costs. Prior to founding Building Solutions, Siegel served as a senior vice president of a publicly traded bank specializing in commercial real estate development.
“Joy is a well-respected business woman in central Maine and she brings a wealth of banking and businesses ability and experience to Mechanics Savings Bank,” said Rick Vail, President and CEO of Mechanics Savings Bank. “We are very pleased to welcome her to our team of corporators.”
Siegel and two partners co-founded Building Solutions LLC in 1992 with a goal of creating economic and community development in Maine. As a managing member, Siegel helps to create jobs for Maine citizens by proactively recruiting businesses to expand or relocate to the Lewiston/Auburn area. She assists in making new business expansion possible by finding creative, cost-effective solutions to potential roadblocks such as upfront costs or ongoing operating fees. Siegel interacts with numerous local, state and federal agencies, such as Department of Economic and Community Development, AVCOG, Maine DEP, Department of Agriculture, FDA, Rural Development Authority, and other licensing, permitting and code enforcement agencies and departments, and financing personnel such as banks or bond issuers.
An Oxford resident, Joy is active in town affairs, having created a Master Plan for the town to affordably convert the former fire station and police station along the river in the historic village into a community center. The new site includes an ice skating rink, community hall and other indoor and outdoor recreational attributes.
